A time capsule celebrating individuals and groups who have had a significant and timeless impact on the University of Guelph Gryphon Football Program. All those whose names are engraved here are quiet contributors, agents of change, or leaders in their sport.  They are players, coaches, staff, parents, and community members who all had a common passion - Gryphon Football.

Flight of the Gryphon - Raising the Bar

Gryphon players and alumni have continued to raise the bar throughout history.  This category recognizes the major accomplishments of our players who have achieved football success at the university, provincial, and national level, in addition to alumni who have been outstanding leaders in their business and in their community. 

Guardians of the Lair - Protecting our Traditions

Certain staff, coaches, and players have worked to create an environment within Gryphon Football that embodies excellence; building and sustaining an environment of success in our football program that has led to enhancing our reputation.  These individuals are the Guardians of the Lair because they have protected the traditions of the team and created a vision for moving forward.  Teams included in this category have also set the bar high by winning championship games.

The Game Changers - Creating Excellence

Creating positive change within an organization is not an easily accomplished task.  However, there have been a number of individuals and groups who have changed the trajectory of Gryphon Football through their vision, passion and effort.  This section celebrates those individuals or groups who, as volunteers, have dedicated many years to the program and have consistently gone above and beyond in their chosen roles by expanding our horizons.

Beyond the call of duty:

Pat’s commitment to excellence has inspired countless athletes at the University of Guelph. His unwavering dedication as an assistant football coach to engage alumni, enhance the facility, retrace and document historical program statistics, and improve the experience for the athletes has left a lasting impact. Pat has always gone above and beyond the call of duty and was an extraordinary coach and mentor for Gryphon Football players.

Bruna ferraro

  • Parent Group (POP) (2011 - 2019)

Beyond the call of duty:

Bruna deserves recognition for her selfless dedication to advancing the parent group for the University of Guelph football team. Her tireless efforts have helped bring together parents and families of team members, creating a strong sense of community and support. Bruna has given countless hours of her time to organize events, coordinate fundraisers, and promote the team's success. Thanks to her efforts, the parent group has become an integral part of the football program and a source of pride for the entire community.

Dr. Robbie Keith ‘59, Dr. Dave Hume ‘61 and Dr. Steve Stewart ‘69

Beyond the call of duty:

Dr. Robbie Keith, Dr Steve Stewart and Dr. Dave Hume's unwavering dedication to the University of Guelph's football program as active alumni, historians, and members of the Wildman Trophy selection committee have left a lasting impact. All three previous Wildman recipients have preserved the program's history and heritage while also inspiring future generations of athletes. They are passionate about the program and their tireless efforts and dedication have contributed to the program’s success. Their contributions on and off the field helped shape the program’s legacy and will continue to inspire generations of athletes to come.

Kyle Rodriguez

  • Photographer (2002 - PRESENT)

Beyond the call of duty:

Kyle's unwavering dedication to the Gryphon football games, both at home and away, and to capturing memorable moments of our parents, alumni, and friends at Gryphon events spanned more than two decades. What set Kyle apart was his exceptional commitment to his craft and his profound love for the Gryphons.

Alf Conley

  • Facilities U of G (15 YEARS)

  • Assistant Equipment Manager (2010 - 2023)

Beyond the call of duty:

Alf Conley personified the adage "Once a Gryphon, always a Gryphon." Following his tireless efforts in upgrading the stadium in his capacity as Facilities staff at the University of Guelph, Alf went on to volunteer as an assistant equipment manager for the Gryphons. He approached every task with an eagerness to assist and a cheerful disposition.

Mike Aloisio

  • Football Operations (2012 - 2018)

Beyond the call of duty:

Mike shied away from the limelight and instead quietly contributed as the team's video editor and football operations manager, going above and beyond his required duties. His keen attention to detail and exceptional organizational abilities allowed him to excel in these roles. Moreover, he readily assisted others and approached every task with a smile. Mike's sincere kindness endeared him to players, coaches, and parents alike.

Craig Moore

  • UNIVERSITY OR GUELPH Hospitality (1981 - 2024)

Beyond the call of duty:

For over 44 years, Craig has dedicated his service as a contributor of hospitality for the University of Guelph football team, His contributions have been invaluable. Craig’s attention to detail, passion for hospitality, and commitment to excellence have elevated the team's experience and contributed to their success. We thank Craig for his unwavering dedication and tireless efforts.
