Riddell High School Coach of the Year Award
In honour of Jeff Hale
presented annually at the wildman awards Dinner
To qualify for consideration, the nominee must be a current High School Football coach in the Province of Ontario. In addition, the nominee should exhibit:
Knowledge of the game (rules, systems, coaching philosophy)
Ability to teach players how to play football
Earned respect from his/her team
Ability to build character
Team image (team conduct, style of play, performance)
Conduct on the field (positive behaviour)
A passion for personal professional development (clinics, camps, conventions)
Community involvement (leagues, banquets, fundraising)
Rapport with other coaches, officials, school administration and media (cooperative, considerate)
A successful coaching record
Notes:
Candidates may be re-nominated for up to five consecutive years
Past recipients are not eligible
A complete nomination package must be received by December 12
All nomination packages will be kept confidential
Nomination package MUST include:
Completed nomination form
Covering letter providing an overall statement of recommendation
Additional supporting documentation you deem appropriate
Award Presentation:
The recipient will be recognized at the Gryphon Football Wildman Awards Dinner held in January of each year
The recipient will be honoured with a plaque, and have his name engraved on the Coach of the Year trophy that is kept at Alumni Stadium
The recipient will receive a $2,000 credit to purchase Riddell equipment
